FAQ

  1. What is the difference between the 3D printed and CNC versions?
    1. The CNC version has both cycloidal discs machined in Acetal (POM/Delrin) plastic, and the outer pins of the drive are stainless steel press-fit pins. On the 3D printed version, both of these components are 3D printed in PETG-CF filament
  2. What is the advantage of the CNC version over the other one?
    1. Longer life. Acetal is a material commonly used on gears due to its excellent material properties such as high strenght, low fatigue and low friction.
  3. Can I buy the 3D files and print my own drive?
    1. Not for this particular design. There are other designs available for download which are more accesible as they do not require a cross-roller bearing.
  4. What motor can I use with this cycloidal drive?
    1. Any standard Nema17 stepper motor with a 5mm shaft.
  5. What assembly will be required?
    1. You will need to install the drive on your Nema17 stepper motor. Some components will come pre-installed, such as the standooffs will be press-fit into the output plate, threaded insert will be installed on the 3D pritned parts.
  6. Where is the product made?
    1. Made in the USA. Some hardware sourced from China.
  7. How long does shipping take?
    1. Ships within 3-5 days from placing the order.
